VINEYARD
Good seasonal rainfall gave the dry-grown vineyard the energy to produce exceptional fruit over a long, even ripening period. The
result is a classic Clare Valley Shiraz from a once-in-a-decade vintage, with remarkable concentration, complexity and balance.
Powerful yet refined, it stands among the finest Clare Valley Shiraz wines we have produced.
Vinification
The fruit comes from two of the Clare Valley’s premium sub-regions – Armagh and Polish Hill River. Each batch is fermented separately in two and four tonne open fermenters over a 14 day period and hand-plunged. The wine is left on skins post-fermentation, enhancing tannin complexity and maximising flavour. This is pressed to tank, then racked to oak (20% new French oak, 80% seasoned French oak) for 18 months.
