AWARDS + REVIEWS

94 Points - WinePilot

"I’ll be honest – very difficult to find anything out about this wine, so we are going with what was in the bottle, nothing more. And that is more than enough. Nero d’Avola is an emerging Italian variety, slowly gaining a foothold here. On the evidence of this wine, it promises to become much more than a niche curiosity. We have the grape’s deep, dark colour and the nose is rich and hearty, with sour cherry and tomato bush notes, black fruits and earthy characters. There is a hint of bitter almond and lots of black cherry characters on the palate, oodles of flavour and good length. Plenty of concentration on the palate, this should easily handle 4 to 6 years. It is one of the better local examples of this variety I have encountered." - Ken Gargett

91 Points - Halliday Wine Companion

"This does Nero proud. It's slurpy and soft, juicy and vibrant. All dribbles of cherry juice, sweet spice, minty lift and game-meat savouriness. Indeed, you can pause and see a quietly complex wine 90 P – not structured so much but lots of character and detail involved. It's fragrant too, rosy, with potpourri, rosehip tea and red cherry scents galore. It finishes very fresh with each sip. Yeah!" - Mike Bennie

90 Points - Real Review

"Medium-deep red with a good tint of purple and aromas of fresh herbs overlying raspberry and other red berry fruits with a hint of peppermint. It’s medium-full bodied and nicely rounded in shape, with supple but positive tannins and good length. This is a nicely turned-out red with plenty of immediate drinkability." - Huon Hooke
