Vineyard
This Shiraz is made using fruit from two of our vineyards - both the cooler region of Polish Hill River and the warmer Armagh, north of Clare.
Vinification
Derived from two of Clare Valley’s premium sub-regions – Armagh and Polish Hill River. Each batch is fermented separately in two and four tonne fermenters over a 12 day period and hand-plunged. The wine is left on skins post-fermentation, enhancing tannin complexity and maximising flavour. This is pressed to tank, then racked to oak (25% new French oak, 75% one and two year old French oak) for a total of two years. The wines are then carefully blended for bottling.
Winemaker Notes
A low-yielding vintage has produced a very concentrated, elegant Shiraz, with notes of blackberry fruit and spice carrying across both bouquet and palate.

AWARDS + REVIEWS
95 Points - The Real Review
“Dark, brooding and lifted aromatics of coffee, mocha, mulberry, plum and spice. Dark, deep and full bodied, with plum, cedary oak, anise, mulberry and spice flavours. A powerful, balanced and delicious wine with poise.” - Aaron Brasher
94 Points - Wine Pilot
"You are getting an awful lot of wine for this price. It was an excellent season in Clare, although other areas suffered excessive heat. Dark chocolate, plum and deep black olive and black berry all swirling through the densely packed almost opulent palate. Super concentrated but with a degree of elegance. The dry savory tannins help hold the wine." - Ray Jordan
93 Points - Halliday Wine Companion
"Matured in French oak for 18 months. A blend Polish Hill River and Armagh fruit. It's a fragrant, medium- to full-bodied expression of shiraz from the region. Whiffs of mint, sage leaf, red and black berries, kirsch and white pepper. Flavours more intense and darker fruited with stewed plum, a minty, leafy herbal inflection and a good dusting of white pepper and garam masala spice. A little woody bite to the tannins, but they keep things in good shape. Juicy and energetic with great lift and freshness." - Mike Bennie
